Let Go of Perfectionism

January 29, 2016

Most people think that perfectionism is a great quality and that it really shows you care.

In reality, perfectionism is a time-waster. You will never do anything perfectly and aiming for that is unproductive. It is also a way to procrastinate and it makes it difficult to get other important tasks completed.

Perfectionism is a persistent loop that allows you to beat up on yourself and ultimately to be cruel to yourself.

It is an expectation that is impossible to achieve and it keeps your fight or flight response always activated in your body.

Aiming for perfection at work or in your personal life keeps you in a constant state of panic and activates the feeling that you are never good enough.
